Art Jam While Surrounded By Cats At This New Studio At Yishun, Free Drink & Materials Provided
When faced with the stresses of daily life, some people turn to art as a form of therapy. Others seek comfort in their pets. Both methods are proven to improve one’s mood and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety - lucky for those who own a slew of art supplies at home or have their own furkids!
As for the rest of us, this respite can be found at art jamming centres and pet cafes. And Wildflower Studio, a new art space at Khatib/Yishun, has combined the two forms of mood boosters to host Art Jamming with Cats - the first of its kind in Singapore.
Read on to find out more about art jamming with cats at Wildflower Studio in Singapore!

Wildflower Studio is actually a home studio run out of Creative Amanda Cho’s apartment, which she shares with her husband and 2 daughters. After illustrating children’s books related to Covid-19 for a charity, she found the confidence to open up her own studio for her art ventures, as well as to share the love of art through art jamming sessions - with cats.

Fittingly, the interior design of Amanda’s home makes it look very much like a cosy cafe - all the more suitable to destress in with paintbrush in hand.

Rest assured that the felines at Wildflower Studio are all well taken care of - after all, they’re Amanda’s own family pets. Sessions are kept small and limited in frequency so that both humans and cats can enjoy themselves in the best way possible. Remember to keep your voice down so that the kitties don’t get scared or stressed out unnecessarily!

The 3 resident cats - Soba (grey), Sundae (black), and Saffron (orange) - are extremely fluffy with gentle, mild temperaments. This makes them easy to interact with, even for young kids. And yes, you are allowed to carry them, and even feed them treats in moderation!

If you’re stuck on what to paint, you can always look to the kitties for inspiration and use them as your live models - no guarantee that they’ll sit still though!

Each Art Jamming with Cats session costs $35 and runs for 2 hours ($17.50 per hour), with a free drink of your choice. All materials from the canvas to the paints and brushes will be included of course, so just bring yourself - and maybe your camera - and get ready for an arty party!

The drink selection isn’t your standard tea and coffee, by the way. Choose from the following:
- Organic dark chocolate
- TWG tea
- Latte
- Bacha drip coffee
- Soft drinks
- Ribena

There are separate time slots for adults and children under 12. Children can make friends with other little ones and obtain some guidance, while adults and teens can have a fun bonding session with their squad or significant others in peace and quiet.

Parents can either drop their young children off and leave them in the good hands of Amanda and her kin, or attend together as a family. Children under the age of 4 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
