Lovot is a highly sophisticated robot from Japan that's designed to stir affectionate feelings in us humans much like when we see a cute dog or cat.

Looking like a mix between a penguin and owl, Lovot looks and behaves like a real cuddly pet. Rather than handling customer service, manufacturing or cleaning, this robot's function is simply to provide love and emotional comfort. Lovot can remember faces and demand love, attention and hugs. It even feels warm to the touch like a real living creature!

This adorable robot now has its own permanent themed cafe in Kawasaki, Japan, complete with cute decor, themed food and drinks, and the actual robots themselves!

Lovot Cafe is located in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, which is less than an hour from Tokyo by train. Kanagawa is a popular destination for a day trip from Tokyo thanks to its onsens, lush nature and historic sites. Joining in the mix is this new permanent Lovot-themed cafe!

The cafe has a cosy and simple interior design with dark wooden floors, peachy pink walls and illustrations of Lovot on the walls, tables and ceiling lights.

Besides being a relaxing, safe haven for diners to enjoy pretty themed food, it's also a place to interact with the robots. Considering prices for a Lovot starts at 299,800 yen, which is about S$3888.24, this is quite the budget-friendly opportunity.
