Heads up, crazy cat ladies and gentlemen - there’s a new cat cafe in Singapore. While The Cat Cafe’s second outlet opened last year in Bukit Timah much to the delight of Westies, this new establishment called Paws Claws Petstore is located on the opposite side of the country at Joo Chiat. They’ve got the cutest, friendliest little felines for you to cuddle up with - along with complimentary kitty-shaped biscuits for humans to enjoy.

There’s always much concern regarding the treatment of animals when it comes to pet cafes, so before we delve into the details, let us put your mind at ease with the assurance that the resident furbabies at Paws Claws cat cafe are extremely well taken care of, with adequate space to run about along with climbing fixtures and hidey holes.

In fact, they’re all personal pets of the owner Adi Rusydi A.Rahman, a gemologist, pet groomer, and content creator who goes by @sydirahman on Instagram - and they’re hella pampered by him. Clean, detangled fur and trimmed nails are a given, and if you’d like for your own feline friend to enjoy the same, you can book him/her a “spa” day with Rusydi, for the premises also doubles up as a cat grooming salon.

Some of these cats are parents and grandparents to the others, but all have since been neutered and thus are no longer able to breed.

We went cross-eyed while attempting to count the number of cats here, but we’re quite sure that there are at least 14 of them!

There’s a list of firm admission criteria one must follow. Children must be at least 7 years old to enter, and those aged 12 and under have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All patrons must produce photo IDs before checking in.

Do note that to avoid causing any stress to the cats or possible manhandling (even if accidental), you’re not allowed to carry them. You can still pet them gently though!

You might have seen Rusydi’s fellow influencers like Xiaxue and Sophie Willocq carrying the kitties in their respective Instagram Story videos, but that’s only because they’re his close friends and are already familiar with his pets. Either way, these domesticated cats are extremely docile and there’s a high chance that one or more may come up to you for a lap cuddle!

Photography is fine so long as no flash is used. Some treats might be given to you in moderation to “bribe” the cats with, but only those provided by the establishment can be fed to them.

Across the board, these gorgeous cats are all super fluffy with soft, luscious fur. Though their exact breeds have not been mentioned - many of them look mixed - you’ll spot some unique features such as folded ears, which are a distinctive trait of the Scottish Fold.
