Tokyo Banana is one of those treats you’d see everyone clamouring to stock up on before their flights from Japan back to their home countries, and Singaporeans aren’t exempt. In fact, we often end up getting multiple boxes of it due to high requests from our family and friends; It’s almost an unspoken rule that one must come back with some for their loved ones after a trip to Japan, since it’s something so prized and rare *headache*.
It’s been almost 2 years or more since some of us set foot out of the country, but 7-Eleven is now giving us a much-craved taste of Japan by bringing Tokyo Banana to Singapore!

For the uninitiated, Tokyo Banana is not a Japanese species of banana, but rather, a rich custard cream-filled banana cake that’s shaped just like the fruit. Other than the Original version, they also have other special flavours like Caramel, Honey, and Coffee Milk, along with seasonal launches featuring adorable designs of otters, Pokemon, and Disney characters.

These may not be Narita Airport prices, but they're not too steep a price to pay for these delectable confections - especially considering the fact that we probably won’t be able to resume the jetset life for many long months to come, perhaps more. So, take this chance to treat yourself! The best part is, you won’t have to be your fam and friends’ shopping mule this time, for they can easily order their own.

Isetan Singapore is also selling Tokyo Banana, at $9.90 for a box of 4, but theirs is the frozen sort, which may or may not taste a little different due to slight alteration of ingredients that make it suitable for cold thawing. Check it out here.
