Deep in the Jellycat cult? We can relate. Here's a new cafe to feed your obsession quite literally: Vicbakery. Tucked away in a rather ulu area near The Star Vista, this bakery serves up Jellycat-inspired mochi and other too-cute-to-eat desserts that are well worth the journey there.

Vicbakery first made its name with custom cakes, ranging from kawaii character-themed ones for kids to intricate works of art with realistic-looking bows, flowers and butterflies. Their cake artistry is so impeccable, it's not surprising that their new cafe's interior and menu are incredibly aesthetic too.

If you like the idea of living a romanticised cottage life, Vicbakery's ambience will give you this main character moment.

The space is decorated with a cosy mis-mash of floral artwork, dried flowers, contrasting prints, and mismatching furniture, complete with a faux fireplace.

It's tastefully styled, with just the right amount of theming to create cottagecore vibes without veering into artificial, theme park-like territory.

But the main star of the show is the food! As sweet as the desserts look, they were all refreshing and not the least bit cloying.

The highlight was, of course, the Jellycat Mochi ($7.90). These plump little mochi balls are filled with flavoured cream and generous chunks of real fruit. Jasmine Tea Grape takes the top spot for the unique combination of delicate, floral green tea notes and crisp, sweet and tangy grapes. A close second is Peach Oolong which has the same fruit tea-like taste. If you like classic fruity flavours, the Mango and Mixed Berry Jellycat Mochis are also worth a try.

Another one were fawning over was the 3D Dog Tiramisu ($18.90). This creamy, cocoa dessert is served in a very coquette cup and topped with cream that's shaped like a poodle! And if Korean-style fat-carons are your guilty pleasure, treat yourself to the Shell Macarons ($5.90) in flavours like Pistachio Raspberry and Blueberry Cheese.

Craving cake instead? Go for the Lychee Rose ($11.90) and Guava Jasmine Grapes ($11.90) sliced cakes. These picture-perfect cakes taste as good as they look, with the perfect ratio of rich cream, fruit and jelly between moist sponge cake. They're the kind of light desserts that you can polish off your plate on your own without feeling guilty.

The true showstopper is the Yuzu Mango Fountain Cake ($18.90). Crafted to look like a miniature neoclassical water fountain, the cake has an "angel statue" centrepiece surrounded by blue jelly "water". It's almost too pretty to slice into, but once we did, we realised it wasn't form over substance. The soft sponge cake is layered with juicy mango chunks and rich cream enhanced with a hint of yuzu.

On the drink menu are Coffees ($5 - $10), Teas ($9.90), and Sodas ($6).

We came for the cuteness factor of the Jellycat mochi but were pleasantly surprised by its quality, along with all the other delicious, not-too-sweet treats. If you like pretty desserts that deliver on flavour too, Vicbakery deserves a spot on your cafe-hopping list!
