Located in the heart of City Hall at Arcade @The Capitol Kempinski, Frieda is a German restaurant and bar with food and ambience that'll transport you to Germany.

The restaurant is split into three sections, the most coveted of which is probably Freida Garden. This relaxing botanical-themed dining area is located in a glass atrium. Bathed in soft natural light, the dining area is furnished with garden furniture and decorated with flowers and palm trees for an alfresco feeling without actually being outdoors.

The "indoor" Fredia's Dining Room area isn't any less picturesque, with vintage-style decor that nods to traditional German restaurants. The floral wallpaper, panelled wooden walls, olive green banquette seats and retro wall sconces all set the scene for a romantic photo backdrop.

The must-try dish at Freida is the Oven Roasted Pork Knuckle ($49). The dish is slow-cooked in aromatic pork stock with bay leaves, peppercorns, cloves, juniper berries, garlic and onion for three hours before baking. The result is a juicy chunk of meat with crispy skin, served with sauerkraut and pretzel dumpling.

Another classic German dish to try is the Veal Weiner Schnitzel ($37), a thick pan-fried cutlet of breaded veal served with salad and cranberry sauce.

If you're there with fellow meat lovers, go for their Freida's Meat Platter ($49 for 2, $90 for 4). It comes with four types of sausages, roast chicken, meatloaf, sauerkraut, mashed potato, pretzel dumpling and Dijon mustard.
