The viral cream-filled circle croissant, which first debuted in a French bakery in New York City and made New Yorkers and TikTok go gaga over, is now taking Singapore by storm. Local bakeries are already jumping on the trend and creating their own versions of this decadent croissant-donut hybrid treat - here are 5 places to get the highly sought-after circular croissants in Singapore.

#1 Swish Rolls

First to hop on this food craze is Swish Rolls, a bakery in Bukit Timah known for its freshly baked swiss rolls and croissants.

Its take on the pastry, dubbed the Croon, includes flavours such as Loaded Pistachio ($5.80), Super Summer Berries ($5.80) and Deep Dark Valrhona Chocolate ($5.80), all of which are decorated prettily with ganache and topped with crumbles.

It also offers Crackly Sea Salt Butter ($3) and Ham ‘n Cheeze ($5.80), which look more ordinary than their counterparts but are still fluffy and flaky. 

With two fresh batches of bakes released in a day, you can purchase them at Swiss Rolls’ Cluny Court outlet at 9.30am or 1pm for same-day walk-ins, where each customer is limited to only six pieces of croons per purchase, or preorder them on its website and pick it up at its outlet.

#2 La Levain

La Levain currently dishes out the most flavours of this circular treat than the rest on this list. Named La LeBombz, the six options here provide a decent variety for those with and without a sweet tooth, with sugary choices like Nutella ($6.50), Passionfruit and Mango ($6.20), and Raspberry ($6.20), and savoury ones topped with Mushroom and Camembert Cheese ($7.20), Parma Ham and Emmental Cheese ($9.50) and Truffle Cream Cheese ($8.20).

If you’re looking forward to sinking your teeth into this artisanal bakery-cafe’s cream-filled croissants, keep in mind that it only bakes eight pieces of each flavour a day, with fresh batches coming out of the kitchen at 10am and 1pm daily.

#3 Yeast Side

Apart from serving up craft beers and firing sourdough pizzas, Yeast Side also bakes these round croissants infused with custard and cream fillings, which they call Swirls. They are priced at $10 each and come in three sweet flavours, all freshly made in limited quantities and exclusive to the bakery-cafe’s Farrer Park outlet.

Look forward to satisfying your taste buds with the Almond Swirl, a combination of rum almond cream and almond flakes, the Vanilla Pistachio Swirl, which is filled with vanilla pistachio custard and topped with crushed pistachio, or the Black Forest Swirl, a classic choice that includes chantilly cream, wine-soaked cherries, kirsch and dark chocolate ganache.

#4 Keong Saik Bakery

Crowd-favourite Keong Saik Bakery’s rendition of this pastry is known as Crolls, and unlike the rest, it’s much smaller in size. It has four offerings on the menu, namely Pistachio Praline, Milo and Genmaicha, as well as a pasta-inspired flavour Cacio e Pepe, filled with Parmigiano Reggiano and pecorino cheese and balanced out with freshly ground pepper.

A single piece goes for $3.90 and is only available for dine-in. But if you opt for a box of four mix-and-match flavours at $14, you can preorder them online as well as get them when you walk into both outlets.
