SGAG's Xiao Ming Is Now A Dad, He Shares Raw Emotions Of Wife In Labour & Struggles Experienced During Delivery
Behind every cherubic “welcome to the world” baby photo is a mother who has gone through a whole physical and mental ordeal. We often don’t see this side of early parenthood being openly shared, but local media personality Xiao Ming from SGAG - who’s now a new father - got candid and raw with his wife’s struggle with labour, arduous childbirth experience, and the roller coaster of emotions they went through before they got to meet their first child.
This comes 2 years after the couple bounced back from a devastating miscarriage in 2020.

35-year-old Xiao Ming, whose real name is Adrian Ang, took to Instagram to share a play-by-play account of what his wife Goh Xin Lei went through in the hours leading up to childbirth.

This started with Xin Lei experiencing some pinkish muscous plug discharge along with increasingly regular contractions, which prompted the couple to head to the hospital for a scan. They then checked into the ward for observation - during which Xiao Ming got up to his antics in an attempt to make his wife feel better amidst the discomfort.

12 hours later, the contractions started getting unbearable, but Xin Lei’s cervix was nowhere near sufficiently dilated. The medical staff then administered an epidural so that she could relax a little.

Alas, she didn’t manage to get a good night’s sleep, because the epidural made her feel uncomfortable and even caused her to throw up. She only managed to dilate 3cm, so the doctor had to help break her water bag to help speed up the process to get her to the ideal state.

It eventually took more than 24 hours since check-in for her to be fully ready to push, and when it was finally time, Xiao Ming whipped out his camera and went snap-happy over the whole thing, and compiled quite a number of his wife’s unglams in an Instagram post.
While this may be something potentially controversy-inducing, most fans were in support of Xiao Ming capturing these genuine expressions of his wife during this emotional occasion.

His post caption reads: “It wasn’t easy but YOU DID AMAZING BABY LOVE ❤️❤️”
“These are the very real and raw emotions of labour. And don’t worry guys, le wife is happy to share these special moments captured in photos with all of you ❤️”
Good to know that Xiao Ming sought permission from Xin Lei before sharing these precious photos of her in such a vulnerable state with the public!

He later on shared an Instagram story of her holding a box of flowers, calling her “the bravest and most amazing women [he’s] ever met.”
We love that Xiao Ming was fully present during the whole thing, and how he was constantly supportive of his beloved wife through every step of this new milestone - just as how a good husband should be.

For those who are curious about their baby’s name, it’s Zachary - also known by his nickname, Ploop Ploop, apparently. While he initially had to be treated for jaundice, we’re happy to hear that this rainbow baby is otherwise healthy.

Congratulations to Xiao Ming and Xin Lei on the birth of their son! He’ll certainly be doted on by his loving parents and we can’t wait to see him grow.
