Festive Garden Domes At Capitol Are Back For Dining Under “Snowfall” & Photo Opportunities This December
When we first heard of the ice-skating rink and life-sized snow domes at City Hall, our first thought was this: What about the dome dining experience?! Our question has since been answered, and it’s official: The garden domes at Capitol are now back up for another year’s run, and are already open for booking this December 2021 for those who wish to dine or snap photographs in them.

The snow play domes at the Outdoor Plaza of Capitol Singapore have since been moved indoors to the Christmas Market, and in their place on the artificial lawn are even more geodesic domes - this time for a magical festive dining experience similar to last year’s.

There are 11 domes in total here, each one decorated with festive ornaments and equipped with portable air-conditioning for comfort. You’re allowed to choose the exact dome you want when making your booking (subject to availability), but they’re more or less identical - save for the fact that some come with chairs while others have plush sofas.
If you’re feeling extra kiasu, you can head down prior to suss out which dome(s) come with the best positioning and most ideal type of seats for you and your crew, but no matter which you land up in, we’re sure it’ll be a magical experience nonetheless!

From your cosy dome, you’ll get to enjoy views of the Singing Tree, which will burst into song at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on certain dates. Try to also time your visit to coincide with the nightly snowfall sessions from 7pm onwards so you can get the full Winter wonderland experience! With just a bit of imagination, it’ll almost be like you’re in a glass igloo in Finland.

We hate to break it to you, but unlike last year’s dome dining experience which was free-of-charge with purchase of any food and drinks from the shopping mall’s F&B outlets, this year’s requires a fee of $30 for 2 hours. Food is not provided, so you’ll have to bring your own takeaways from the mall. Else, you can simply use the space for a mini photoshoot with your friends.
We suggest going with 4 other pals to max out the cost; A group of 5 pax would have to pay just $6 per person, which is still reasonable with all things considered.
