There’s A Free Garden Dome Dining Experience At Capitol With Aircon & Board Games
First it was The Summerhouse. Then, it was the SEA Aquarium at Sentosa. Now, Capitol Singapore has joined the party with their own dome dining experience. The difference? The former two will cost you a pretty penny, but these garden domes at City Hall can be dined in for free.
That’s right - no fancy full-course meals or a $200 bill required. On top of that, there are board games up for loan at no additional cost. This was previously slated to end by October, but due to its popularity, there’s now an extension till 15 November 2020.

If you’ve walked past City Hall MRT station recently, you might have seen 10 whimsical bubble domes lined up in a row on the front lawn of Capitol Singapore, a mall directly connected to the grand Capitol Kempinski Hotel.

With artificial grass lining the ground, it’s almost like you’re dining in a real garden. Fret not about the heat, as each dome comes with its own portable air conditioning unit.

These domes are free to use, but the catch is that you’ll have to purchase something from Capitol’s F&B outlets first in order to use them. There is no minimum spending amount required, or restriction on any of the eateries. However, you’ll have to opt for takeaway as the restaurants and cafes will not be serving the food directly to you in the dome.

Not all the domes are furnished the same way; The domes with odd numbers come with sofa seats, while the ones with even numbers come with round tables. No matter which you choose, it’ll be a magical experience that’ll have you whipping out your camera for tons of photos.

We suggest going for the tables and chairs if you’re having a full meal, as that would probably be more comfortable and practical. If you’re only there for a quick round of cake and tea, then the couch seats would provide a chill setting suitable for your afternoon tea session.

Wanna kick it back campfire-style? Dome 7 in particular comes with musical instruments like an acoustic guitar, electronic keyboard, and cajon so you can gather your music-loving friends and bond over a jamming session.

Everything looks equally breathtaking at night. Pendant lamps within your dome will light it aglow, resulting in an ethereal look. While it looks great from inside, don’t miss the opportunity to pose in front of the dome’s entrance too!
