#2: Rower’s Bay Park - hidden waterside spot with sunset views

Though it opened in 2019, Rower’s Bay Park is still a relatively hidden spot, especially to those who don’t live in Yishun. Located right across from the scenic Yishun Dam, this little enclave is part of the Round Island Route, a series of park connectors that will eventually connect all the way to Gardens by the Bay.

#5: Sembawang Hot Spring - onsen with egg cooking station

Once just a little tap spouting out of the ground, Sembawang Hot Spring has now been revamped to include a 3-tiered cascading pool which you can actually soak your feet in - just like the public foot baths in Japan! The water is a comfortable 40 degrees or so, which is optimal for the skin.

There’s also a separate egg cooking station with water at 70 degrees, and you can either bring your own raw eggs or get some from the nearby cafe to have your own onsen egg feast.

The whole area is full of greenery with a small stream running through. If it gets sunny, there are shelters under which you can take a rest and just enjoy the surroundings.

#6: HydroDash - first floating waterpark in Singapore

Have a splashing good time at HydroDash, the first-ever floating waterpark in Singapore that’s basically an upgraded version of the bouncy castles we used to love playing on as kids. Gardens by the Bay has taken things up a notch quite literally with their new Supertree Observatory, a viewing deck that’s located on the canopy of the tallest Supertree. This open-air vantage point will give you a 360-degree view of the Gardens and its surrounding cityscape, and it’s a great place to take in some fresh air!

There’s also a cafe there which serves up snacks and drinks - including cocktails - so you don’t have to make the 50-metre descent if you start getting peckish.

Your cycling trips just got a lot more epic with Jurassic Mile, a dinosaur-themed path that stretches between Changi Airport and East Coast Park. As you make your way through, you’ll come face-to-face with life-sized prehistoric creatures such as raptors, T-rexes, and more.

#15: Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant - rooftop garden for picnics

Looks like you won’t have to fight for space with other folk at Marina Barrage, as the new Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant will soon open its green rooftop to the public. Though you won’t be able to fly a drone or kite here due to safety reasons, you can still spread out a mat for a romantic little picnic with your partner.
This desalination centre treats seawater from the Marina Reservoir and turns it into potable water that flows through our taps, and is part of the Eastern Coastal Park Connector Network, which connects ECP and Gardens by the Bay.
