This Vampire-Themed Hotel In Turkey Has Gothic Halls, Luxurious Cave Rooms & A Blood-Red Swimming Pool
Ever wondered what it would be like to spend the night in a vampire’s mansion? Well, we've found a spot where you can get pretty close without having to worry about getting bitten! Tucked away in Ürgüp, Cappadocia in Turkey is Sacred House, a moody boutique hotel that looks like it came straight out of a gothic fairytale.

Originally a Greek-Armenian mansion, the historic stone building has been restored and transformed with stunning antiques, stone walls and individually styled spaces. Just looking at pictures makes us feel like we've stepped into a vampire film set somewhere in a mysterious European estate, rather than a hotel in central Turkey!

Here, guests can live out their dark-academia-meets-Dracula dreams as they wander through gorgeous stone halls, pose for fit checks against the dramatic furnishings, and enjoy candlelit interiors everywhere. There's even a sprawling restaurant and many lounge spaces decked out in the kind of elaborate castle finery that wouldn't look out of place in Game of Thrones.

Unlike big chain hotels where every room looks more or less identical, Sacred House has 21 individually designed rooms, each with its own character.

The rooms combine Cappadocia's distinctive stone architecture with antique furnishings, fireplaces and modern bathroom amenities, so you get the old-world atmosphere without having to give up all your creature comforts.

Some rooms are also built into the property's cave-like structures, making the whole experience feel particularly fitting for a trip to Cappadocia, a region that's famous for its underground cities, rock formations and cave dwellings.

The vampire fantasy continues at Virtus Restaurant, Sacred House's on-site restaurant. Here guests can enjoy Turkish and international cuisine in a medieval-inspired setting, complete with antique silverware, chandeliers and chevalier-style tables.

The hotel describes the dining experience as drawing from old and forgotten cuisines, so it's not just the decor that's getting the medieval treatment. Plus, there's also a bar and terrace overlooking the hotel's courtyard.

Best of all, the hotel boasts an underground spa centred around a striking red indoor swimming pool. Known as Inferno, the subterranean space is probably the closest thing you'll get to a vampire's private swimming pool without actually being invited into one!

The spa is inspired by the imagery of Dante's Divine Comedy, with the hotel's wider design drawing on European art and themes surrounding heaven, hell and purgatory. We're absolutely loving the dark, dramatic wellness space with stone columns and deep red lighting surrounding the pool.

While you might be tempted to spend the entire trip inside Sacred House taking photos, the hotel is located in the heart of Ürgüp, and according to Booking.com, it's located just around 0.6km from the city centre. That makes it a pretty convenient base for exploring Cappadocia!
