Ever wanted to know what it feels like to be a piece of meat floating around in your favourite hotpot? I kid you not, with a bit of travelling, you can now (probably) be the first in your bloodline to experience this over at Maple Leaf Village Hot Spring Resort!

Located in Harbin, China, this relaxing-sounding spa destination is actually more chill-i than chill, because it's home to the largest, and likely only, hotpot-inspired spa on God's green earth. With a 9.4/10 rating on Trip.com, this relatively new resort opened in June 2019 and has already secured the title of Number 1 Hot Spring Resort in Harbin.

Besides going viral for its eyebrow-raising hot spring tubs, the resort itself is absolutely enormous. This luxurious outdoor hot spring area spans a whopping 3000 square metres and comprises a children's play area, saunas, and a spacious relaxation area. Plus, there is even a large snow and ice amusement park on its grounds!

The hot spring facilities include over 30 individual pools, with popular options like medicinal baths, rose pools, outdoor pools, and a fish therapy pool available for guests to use.

Of course, the star attraction is the yuan yang pool, which resembles a dual-flavour hotpot when viewed from above. One of the pots has a red, spicy-looking broth, filled with chilli peppers; and the white pool looks like a clear soup containing milk, red dates and goji berries.

We know what you're thinking: that red soup looks like bad news! Well, ̶f̶r̶e̶t̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶  fret less, because the red colour of the hot tub actually comes from red rose petals, which are replaced every day. And while the chilli peppers that float around in there are real, they are of a milder variety to avoid irritating guests' more, ahem, sensitive regions.

If you've read this far and are still interested in perhaps taking a soak in the yuan yang hot spring, this probably wouldn't matter to you. But for the slightly reluctant crowd, this pool does offer up some health benefits! The spices in the red broth are said to promote metabolism and enhance blood circulation, while the milk in the white pool will give your skin a moisture boost.

The craziest part is that day passes—which include access to the hotpot bath, a sauna experience and a buffet meal—are priced at an affordable S$38–$40 (120–280 CNY), while overnight stays generally begin from S$66. If you think about it, that's less than a day pass to Universal Studios Singapore (S$83)!
