Chrissy Teigen & John Legend Lose Their New Baby After Pregnancy Complications
What was supposed to be a joyous occasion of new life for model Chrissy Teigen and singer husband John Legend turned out to be one of grief. Instead of walking out of the hospital with a newborn as happy third-time parents, the celebrity couple have instead lost their baby boy due to childbirth complications.
Chrissy took to Instagram to share her pain on 1 October 2020, drawing tons of support from fans and fellow celebrities.

Chrissy Teigen posted a series of raw black and white photos of herself in the hospital’s delivery room, giving everyone a glimpse of the ordeal she and John Legend went through. The first shot is a heartbreaking one of her sitting up with her hands clasped, with tears visibly rolling down her face.
She shares that she experienced excessive bleeding that they weren’t able to stop, which resulted in the loss of their child.

“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”

Previously, Chrissy had been hospitalised due to severe bleeding midway through her pregnancy, which was caused by a weak placenta. Her baby had been healthy throughout the pregnancy, but because of the problems with her placenta, he wasn’t able to receive the fluids and nutrients he required.
Although Chrissy and John typically don’t name their children until after they’re born, they had somehow started to call their third child “Jack” even while he was in the womb.

“Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever. To our Jack - I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.”

She ends off the post by thanking everyone who has been sending them positivity and support.
“We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”

Some fans have criticised the model for publicly sharing photos of her miscarriage, saying that she’s capitalising on it for clout. However, most have been encouraging and sympathetic, and applauded her for being brave enough to share her experience and spark conversations about miscarriages - something that’s still a taboo topic for many people, despite 10 to 15 percent of pregnancies ending in that way.
It is worth noting that different people grieve differently, so let’s not be too quick to judge others in times of anguish.
As a well-known person, perhaps Chrissy also felt the need to share her story with the public herself first instead of dealing with rumours and speculations by the media and fans.

The celebrity couple have 2 other children, a 4-year-old girl named Luna Simone Stephens, and a 2-year-old boy, Miles Theodore Stephens.
We hope Chrissy, John, and their family heal from this unfortunate incident and continue to have many more happy moments together in the future.
