Dee Kosh Addresses Sexual Harassment Claims, Apologises For Inappropriate Behaviour Towards Minors
Singaporean YouTuber Darryl Koshy, also known as Dee Kosh, has broken the silence shortly after sexual harassment claims were made by multiple men, some of whom were teenagers as young as 15 years old when the alleged incidents happened.
The 32-year-old social media personality took to Instagram yesterday, 17 August 2020, to post a public apology for his inappropriate behaviour - though he did deny some of the accusations made against him.

Earlier on, while the allegations were being made, Dee Kosh posted an Instagram story stating that he denied all claims made against him.
Some netizens had initially wondered if the entire furore was going to turn out to be a publicity stunt or social experiment on the toxicity of “cancel culture”.
However, in his newest statement, he admitted that there was some truth to what had been said - although apparently not all of it was factual.

He goes on to say, “I don’t do relationships, I don’t do commitments” - presumably an explanation for sending messages of a sexual nature to the various guys. He states that he asks for the age of anyone he propositions, just to ensure that whatever is said and done is between consenting adults.

Addressing the screenshots of him texting a 15-year-old boy, Dee acknowledges that his tone was “questionable” and the whole situation “problematic”, but clarifies that he never had the intention to groom the boy, nor had any sexual relations with minors.

In his mind, it was merely a “friendly conversation which was cheeky and inappropriate”, but in hindsight, has realised what he did was wrong and is sorry for his actions.
He goes on to deny the claims where he sought others out for paid sex on dating apps, and says that the person who posted the screenshots is using a fake profile photo.

He also denies using his YouTube channel for purposes other than talent acquisition and content creation - as he is aware that doing otherwise would only result in negative consequences for his business and the people related to it.
“To blur these lines not only paints me as a predator but also impacts my business, the talents and the people who work along with me. Worse, it also impacts my relationship with my friends, my followers, and most important to me, my family.”

“I have always separated work and play...I’ve always maintained a line between my life’s compartments.”
Dee proceeds to ask for forgiveness and promises that he will “do everything in [his] power to be better”, and to “make conscious steps to change, to heal, to be the person that [he] wants [his] family to be proud of.”

Though a minority have commended Dee for taking full responsibility for what he has done, most fans have not been so quick to forgive.
The comments section of his Instagram posts are filled with hate messages saying that he is only sorry because he got caught, and that a 30-year-old should already know that it’s not right to chat up someone half his age, consent or otherwise.

Others have called him a hypocrite, bringing up how he lambasted actor Eden Ang for sexual harassment back in 2018, but ended up doing the same sort of thing himself.
It looks like it’ll be quite a while before Dee will be able to move on from the heavy backlash of this incident.
