#2: Experience Anime Fest Asia online with AFA Station

Cosplayers and anime lovers must be feeling bummed out about all anime conventions being cancelled this year, but at least there’s still the online version of Anime Fest Asia 2020 to look forward to, aka AFA Station.
The virtual event will include guest appearances from international celebrity artistes including Gundam voice actor Chiaki Kobayashi and otaku breakdance group Real Akiba Boyz. There will also be a slew of anime-related goods for sale on the event’s online marketplace, including Bandai toy figurines, prints of your favourite cosplayers, wearables, and more.
Of course, it won’t be quite the same as the original AFA, but this can tide you over for the time being!

#3: Admire mini themed gardens at GBTB’s new Pocket Gardens Surprise exhibition

Gardens by the Bay’s famous Flower Dome is bringing you yet another fresh floral experience with its Pocket Gardens Surprise exhibition, which comprises various mini themed gardens that will be on display for a temporary period of time over the course of the month.

With its vibrant colours and giraffe-shaped floral formation, Out of Africa transports you to a safari setting, while the Patio Garden with mini plants like succulents and bonsai will give you inspiration for creating your own green space at home. Modelled after French gardens, the Edible Garden is full of fruits, vegetables and herbs that can be used in cooking.

#4: Tuck into the new Rilakkuma cafe’s adorable themed food items

Already visited the Gudetama x Bad Badtz-Maru cafe? Well, here’s another character-themed eatery to add to your list. Kumoya’s second outlet has just opened at Orchard, and they have a year-long collaboration with San-X, starting with the adorable relaxed bear, Rilakkuma.

#5: Visit Chinatown to view the Mid-Autumn Festival 2020 light-up

This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations at Chinatown will be scaled down because of COVID-19, with online lantern designing contests in lieu of big bazaars, lantern walks, and live stage performances.
But that doesn’t mean it’s going to be any less fun. In fact, you can still head down in person to catch the festive light-up with over 700 lanterns and light sculptures, and purchase mooncakes from the stalls in the area. Alternatively, you can watch the light-up ceremony from the comfort of your home as it will be live-streamed online.
