Kumoya Cafe at Bugis has made a name for itself with all its character-themed pop-ups - from the latest Sanrio Gudetama x Bad Badtz-Maru one, to previous editions featuring Pusheen the cat and We Bare Bears. Each time, a snaking queue forms without fail, with many excited patrons waiting to get a taste of all the adorable character cafe fare.
But with the opening of Kumoya’s second outlet on 29 August 2020, perhaps you won’t have to jostle for space as much. Located at Orchard Central, this new branch is much larger at 2,000 square feet, with a private room for special occasions and a whopping year-long collaboration with San-X - starting with Rilakkuma. This theme will be up till 9 March 2021, after which another set of decor will take over.

For now, Kumoya Cafe at Orchard comes with a Rilakkuma theme. The entrance takes on the appearance of a house in Japan, with traditional curtains and plenty of light wood.

The interior is also decked out with lots of wood, but there’s plenty more colour in the form of table tops and seat dividers bearing the image of Rilakkuma and friends.
