Dalgona coffee, pancake cereal, and IKEA meatballs aside, one lady from Malaysia named Baizura Muhammad has seemed to have figured out Famous Amos’ cookie recipe. The original post is written in Malay, but here is a translated version in English.

First, prepare the following ingredients:
- 250g butter
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 cups wheat flour
- 1/2 cup corn flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 6 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Almond flakes or almond nibs (optional)
According to her, the more premium your ingredients, the better the cookies will taste.

Step 1: Mix the butter, brown sugar, vanilla essence and egg in a bowl. Use a spoon instead of a mixer for better texture.

Step 2: In the same container, add in the wheat flour, corn flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, and cooking oil. Continue mixing slowly, and avoid over-stirring.

Step 3: Add the chocolate chips and stir until evenly mixed. Add in the almond flakes/nibs, or even cornflakes if you wish.

Step 4: Leave the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes

Step 5: Preheat the oven at 150. Roll the cookie dough into little balls, arrange them with enough buffer space on a baking tray, and bake for around 20 minutes. There is no need to press the cookie dough down as it will expand and flatten on its own.
