Enjoy A Local-Inspired Afternoon Tea At Pan Pacific Singapore's "Floating" Pods On Water
Tea, delicate mini sandwiches and pretty little desserts are what makes up an afternoon tea, but let's not deny it, half the charm of this mid-day treat is the environment where we luxuriate in. Well, there's one place where the ambience is simply exquisite, and it's the Pacific Emporium at Pan Pacific Singapore.
This whimsical lounge is made out of seating pods that appear to be floating above water. Each pod is its own little private enclave where diners can enjoy all-day dining from breakfast to afternoon tea. The menu refreshes seasonally and the latest and current edition features local-inspired flavours.

Served on a 3-tiered stand that resembles the seating pods, the afternoon tea comes with 12 dainty bites.
At the base are six savouries including a scrumptious Singapore Chilli Crab Meat in Egg Custard with a crispy slice of mantou. It also features the cream of the crop from the hotel's restaurants. One is a perfectly light and crispy Salted Egg Yolk Yam Puff by Cantonese restaurant Hai Tien Lo, and another is the juicy Wagyu Beef Sando from Japanese restaurant Keyaki.

On the middle tier are four desserts that are almost too pretty to eat. It includes the refreshing Mango Pomelo
Sablé and Coconut Bandung with Chendol French pastry.

As a carb lover, the absence of scones was sorely felt, but this set was still surprisingly substantial and satisfying without it!
Completing the decadent affair is a choice of TWG Tea, such as Moonfruit Black and Eternal Summer, or a cup of Lavazza coffee. There's also a boozy option, a glass of Taittinger Brut Réserve Champagne (+$20).
On weekends, the afternoon tea will feature five live stations serving elevated comfort food like Prawn Noodle Soup with Fresh Tiger Prawn, Penang Tangy Assam Laksa, Wok Hei Char Kway Teow with Pacific Crab Meat, and D24 Durian Crêpe.
The Local-Inspired Afternoon Tea at Pacific Emporium as priced at $68 per person on weekdays and $78 per person on weekends, and has two seatings at 1pm and 4pm. Make your reservation here.
