Yes, it has been several months since I first tried YANAGIYA’s Hair Tonic and Apricot Oil and I’m still waxing lyrical about these products. Coping with dry hair and an oily scalp in hot and humid Singapore is truly no walk in the park. That’s precisely why I’m so impressed by YANAGIYA’s game-changing products and also why they are now staples in my daily beauty routine

Don’t just take my word for it! As part of a product trial, I sent the haircare duo to 20 GirlStyle readers and consolidated their unvarnished reviews. Rest assured that each of them used the Hair Tonic and Apricot Oil for at least a week before judging their efficacy, ensuring a fair assessment over time. The beauty of a product trial lies in its diversity — our reviewers are of various ages and have different hair types. You can easily discover how someone with similar hair concerns to yours felt about these products!

On the Hair Tonic:

“I'm a mother of two and I noticed that I lost quite a lot of hair due to pregnancy and childbirth. And even after three years, I will say my hair is still not 100% back to what it was. [...] After using it for a month, I noticed that I had more baby hair growing out, especially around my receding hairline area. I particularly liked the minty sensation when I applied the tonic to my scalp; it felt very refreshing and cooling. Plus, I like that my scalp doesn't feel sticky after application.”

On the Apricot Oil:

“For the hair oil, the instructions said to vary the amount applied according to your hair length; I found three drops of hair oil sufficient. I was pleasantly surprised that the hair oil was light and not too oily — I was expecting the viscosity typical of hair oils. The hair oil had a mild, balanced apricot scent that I found quite refreshing i.e. it was not too sweet and very inoffensive for someone with a hypersensitive sense of smell. To apply the oil, I put three drops into my palm and rubbed my palms together. I applied it from the middle to my hair ends as instructed, rubbing my hair between my hands and shaking it out to spread the oil more evenly. Right after application, I noticed that my hair looked more voluminous than before and my curls became more apparent.”

On the Hair Tonic & Apricot Oil:

“The citrus Hair Tonic, with its invigorating scent, left my scalp revitalised and refreshed. Its lightweight formula did not leave any greasy residue. However, my experience with the Apricot Oil differed. When applied traditionally, I found its texture less moisturising for my hair, making it unsuitable as a dry hair serum. Due to my hair type, it tended to make my locks look oilier when dried. Despite this, I discovered an alternative use: using it as a head spa treatment. Applying the Apricot Oil to my scalp during a relaxing massage became a delightful way to nourish and pamper my hair and scalp. After a week, I noticed positive changes in my hair condition.”
