One of the perks of being an editor at a women’s media outlet is having access to a lot of beauty products. Truth be told, I can even stop spending my own dime altogether and curate an entire routine with all the freebies that come my way. What this means is that the mainstays in my beauty arsenal — items that I repurchase — are truly the cream of the crop. Read on for the tried-and-true skincare and haircare staples that I can’t stop reaching for on the daily.

#1 Bioderma Atoderm Huile de Douche

If you have dry and sensitive skin like me or are prone to eczema outbreaks, you’ll want to check out this cleansing oil. Although I was always dubious about oil-based cleansers, this product has changed my mind. The formula is non-greasy and washes off easily — I’m getting another bottle the next time I pass by a drugstore!

#2 Jung Beauty Hydra Barrier Toner

After cleansing my face, I restore my skin’s pH balance by using a generous amount of this toner. I pat the solution all over my face so that it can soak in all the benefits of the ingredients: probiotics, panthenol, and ginseng. I love the faint scent of ginseng, how lightweight the product feels on my skin, and that it does not leave a sticky residue.

#3 Astalift The Serum Multi Tune

Since I was looking to introduce niacinamide into my skincare routine, I was pleased to stumble upon this serum. Thanks to proprietary permeating liposome technology, the gel-like formula penetrates the skin effectively. It promotes collagen production and helps to prevent the formation of wrinkles, dark spots, and freckles.

#4 MZSKIN Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum

To give my skin a serious boost of hydration, I use this luxe serum, which contains a 2% hyaluronic acid complex. Thanks to the snow mushroom and reishi mushroom, it also helps to prevent signs of premature ageing and has anti-inflammatory properties. It’s particularly great for me since I have sensitive skin that is prone to turning red!

#5 Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Face Lotion Sunscreen SPF50 PA++++ 50ml

Remember, shielding your skin from harmful UV rays is a non-negotiable step in any skincare routine. And this sunscreen is one of my favourites. The watery formula blends into my skin without leaving a white cast behind. Its lightweight texture also makes it the perfect base for days when I wear makeup.

#6 Yanagiya Hair Tonic

With Singapore’s humidity and unforgivable heat, scalp care is a priority for me these days. After all, it’s not possible to have healthy hair without paying attention to our scalp. This tonic is packed with nutrients that promote hair growth and scalp health. Bonus points for the cooling sensation upon application, which soothes itchiness and irritation.

#7 Kinohimitsu Collagen Night

I introduced Kinohimitsu’s Collagen Night to my diet for an article and have not looked back ever since. A drink that enhances the quality of my sleep and skin? Say no more. Plus, the combination of white peach and apple juice makes this nightcap particularly tasty. Yes, a single bottle contains a whopping 5300mg of Marine Collagen!
