From heart-pounding disaster film to heartwarming romance drama, there's something for everyone to enjoy. So, without further ado, let's dive right in and explore what's in store for us in Q3 & Q4!

#1 Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 (Q3 2024)

The conclusion of Gyeongseong Creature left fans wanting more, and thankfully, they won't have to wait long. Season 2 is set to hit Netflix screens in 2024, but there's a twist in store. Instead of the historical backdrop of 1945 Gyeongseong, the story now unfolds in modern-day Seoul.

Fans will be glad to see Han So-hee returning as Chae-ok, but there's a new face in the mix: Park Seo-joon takes on the role of a character named Ho-jae. Whether Ho-jae is connected to Tae-sang from the first season is a question that's yet to be answered. And the mystery deepens as we wonder how Chae-ok still looks the same after 80 years.

Lee Mu-saeng and Bae Hyeon-seong will also be joining the cast.

#2 The Whirlwind (Q3 2024)

The Whirlwind is a political drama centred on the conflict between the deputy prime minister of the economy and the prime minister. Their different and conflicting ideologies lead to a significant impact on both the country and themselves. Sul Kyung-gu takes the lead role as the prime minister, while Kim Hee-ae from The World of the Married portrays the minister of the economy.

#3 Officer Black Belt (Q3 2024)

Officer Black Belt, an upcoming Korean movie, tells the story of a martial artist proficient in taekwondo and judo. He's hired to monitor criminals and protect people as part of a new security program. Directed by Jason Kim, known for Bloodhounds on Netflix, this film is already gaining attention for its action scenes. As of now, the only actors officially signed on for the drama are Kim Woo-bin and Kim Sung-kyun, who will be playing the lead roles.

#4 The Frog (Q3 2024)

The Frog is a gripping mystery thriller centred around two pension owners living in different time periods. Gu Sang-joon manages a motel in the past, while Jeon Young-ha oversees a pension in the present. As similar incidents unfold for both men, their choices diverge drastically. The drama also features stellar performances from Go Min-si and Lee Jung-eun.

The series follows the stories of Hae-jo and Jae-mi, who are both really unhappy with their lives. Hae-jo feels lost and purposeless, while Jae-mi is about to marry someone she doesn't love. What makes things even more interesting is that they used to date each other. As the characters deal with their problems and their past together, things get more complicated.

Woo Do-hwan, known from Bloodhound, plays Hae-jo, and Lee You-mi, from Squid Game, Strong Girl Nam-soon, and All of Us Are Dead, plays Jae-mi. The show also features Oh Jung-se and Kim Hae-sook.

#6 The Great Flood (Q4 2024)

Park Hae-soo, known for his roles in Squid Game and Money Heist, is back on Netflix for a Korean movie in 2024. This sci-fi disaster flick focuses on saving a young child trapped in a flooded apartment building, with a huge flood causing chaos worldwide.

In the movie, An-na (played by Kim Da-mi), who works on AI development for a human resource security team, and Hee-zo (played by Park Hae-soo) struggle to survive. Hee-zo is determined to rescue An-na, but his motivations are unclear.

#7 Hellbound Season 2 (Q4 2024)

In Season 2, the focus might shift to the unexpected return of folks who were once condemned to hell, starting with Jeong-ja. There's a chance we'll see the main character Jin-su making a comeback from the afterlife too, especially with Kim Sung-cheol taking over the role from the original actor Yoo Ah-in.

And then there's Toughie, who managed to survive a decree that led to his parents, Young-jae and So-hyun, sacrificing themselves in his place. This turn of events leaves us questioning the true meaning behind the decrees and how it might shake up the ideology of New Truth. Kim Hyun-joo, Kim Shin-rok, Lee Dong-hee, Yang Ik-joon, and Lee Re are all set to return to reprise their roles. Yang Dong-geun, Im Sung-jae, Jo Dong-in, and Moon Geun-young have joined the cast as well.

#8 Uprising (Q4 2024)

Uprising is a new historical K-drama set in the Joseon era. Childhood friends Cheon-yeong and Jong-ryeo find themselves on opposite sides due to the war, turning them into enemies. Described as a blend of human drama and thrilling action sequences, the show promises excitement throughout. Leading the cast are Gang Dong-won and Park Jeong-min, alongside Cha Seung-won, Kim Shin-rock, Jin Sun-kyu, and Jung Sung-il.

#9 The Trunk (Q4 2024)

This mystery series is based on a popular Korean novel by Kim Ryeo-ryeong. Set in a country where divorces are common, The Trunk explores the idea of short-term marriages offered by a matchmaking company. In-ji (played by Seo Hyun-jin) works at this company, while Jeong-won (portrayed by Gong Yoo) is a music producer who ends up in one of these temporary marriages. As their contract nears its end, their lives take a surprising turn when they discover a trunk washed up in a lake.

#10 Squid Game Season 2 (Q4)

After the huge success of its first season in 2021, fans have eagerly anticipated the return of director Hwang Dong-hyuk's Emmy-winning survival drama. Netflix recently gave viewers a glimpse of what's to come with a 17-second teaser clip released in February. The clip picks up right where the first season left off, featuring a red-haired Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun, also known as Player 456. Instead of leaving South Korea for the U.S. as planned, Gi-hun appears to have made a decision to seek revenge. "You're going to regret the choice you made," a voice on the phone warns Gi-hun, to which he ominously replies, "I will find you. No matter what it takes."
