NOC's Current & Ex-Employees Start Exposé Blog: Sylvia's Alleged Cheating, Misappropriation Of Funds & More

The past few weeks have been tumultuous for employees of the Singaporean YouTube channel Night Owl Cinematics. For the uninitiated, bullying allegations against co-founder Sylvia Chan first surfaced on social media about 3 weeks ago, and the co-founder has since released her apology statement on 14 October, in which she shared that she will remove herself from NOC's lineup of artistes.

Unhappy with how the situation meted out and wanting Sylvia to be more accountable, current and ex-employees of NOC have banded together to release an #EndTheSilence exposé blog post to share their personal experiences working with Sylvia.

Claims of Sylvia misappropriating NOC's funds for brother's PR status & side business

According to the blog post, it was revealed that Sylvia had allegedly misused NOC's funds to help her brother, Sikeen, obtain his Permanent Residency (PR).

In a conversation with one of NOC's finance staff, Sylvia allegedly requested for Sikeen to be "placed on the payroll so he [could] apply for PR".

Sylvia also allegedly asked for an increase in Sikeen's pay - from $2800 to $3000 - and requested that the finance staff "backdate Sikeen’s salary to May in order to facilitate his PR application".

The blog post also revealed Sikeen's payslip, stating that he was drawing a salary "whilst not doing work for NOC". The payslip showed that Sikeen was drawing a salary of $3500 from April to June 2021 and the amount increased to $4500 from July to September.

The writers of the blog post had also backed their allegations with a screenshot of a conversation with NOC's Video Lead, Virus, in which he allegedly said that Sikeen was not involved in any NOC productions for a "very long" time.

Turns out, Sylvia had also allegedly misappropriated NOC's funds for her personal venture, a chilli side business.

The screenshots above show the alleged conversation between Sylvia and her "potential business partner" Edmond Ng. According to the blog post, Sylvia allegedly had plans to promote her line of chilli on Food King.

In the conversation, Sylvia allegedly claimed that NOC's Food King team knew about her plans to start a chill side business. However, Edmond refuted her claims after having a private conversation with Ryan who claimed that he wasn't aware of her side business.

It was later revealed that the "plan fell through and Edmond was not at all compensated for his time".

Alleged manipulation of NOC talent to have sex with a client for free courier services

The lengthy exposé also shared that whilst Sylvia worked on launching her Chilli business, she allegedly made arrangements with the founder of a courier company in Singapore to barter sex with one of NOC's talents for free courier services.

It was mentioned that Sylvia had allegedly arranged for a drinking session with a few of NOC talents and the founder of the abovementioned courier company.

"Talent A had no idea that there was an underlying agenda to the meeting. Eventually after a few drinks, Talent A was intoxicated and performed sexual intercourse with the founder of the courier company," the blog post stated.

It was later revealed that Sylvia had allegedly managed to procure the logistics she needed from the abovementioned courier company.

Sylvia allegedly cheated on Ryan while he was overseas

In the blog post, screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation between Sylvia and a person who was close to her were also shared.

The conversation, which dated back to 2020 shows Sylvia allegedly revealing to the other party that she "[needed] that D once more" and described the male's (not Ryan) private part as "fat and big".

According to the blog post, the text exchange happened while Ryan was in Taiwan. However, we understand that the couple had broken the news of their divorce to the public via a YouTube video on 31 May 2020; this incident thus happened when the couple was separated. It was unclear as to what their arrangement at that time was.

Other allegations against Sylvia

The exposé blog also mentions how Sylvia allegedly fat-shamed a prominent plus-sized influencer, made jokes regarding the Dee Kosh scandal, disregarded employees' feedback to remedy HR-related issues, and did not pay talents/vendors on time among others.

Sylvia also allegedly told Ryan that someone in his 5-person project said he's an "incompetent leader" but it was later revealed that Sylvia was the one who said it.

In a Zoom video, it is evident that Ryan was venting his frustrations to Sylvia as a business partner regarding the heavy workload but she doesn't seem to care. It was also revealed that employees had been constantly working till 4am, and that leaving at 7pm is seen as a "sign of laziness".

The blog post ended with current and ex-employees of NOC appealing for current employees and talents who wish to leave be able to do without having to worry about legal repercussions.
