Crazy cat lady who loves afternoon tea, kawaii Japanese fashion, and all things Sanrio.

Having an afternoon tea session is usually thought of as an indulgence, as it often comes with a heavy price tag. But more affordable options have been springing up in Singapore as of late, and Cafe de Paris is one of them. Best of all, their popular High Tea set has recently gotten a fresh revamp - with additional items as part of the list for a more filling meal, but with similar wallet-friendly prices that we know and love them for.

Cafe de Paris is a Korean cafe located at 313 Somerset along Orchard Road. While they first started out serving fruity parfaits - which they refer to as Bonbons - they now also offer highly popular art jamming sessions at reasonable rates.

Adding on to their repertoire is their revamped High Tea set, which includes Korean, Japanese, and French-inspired sweets and savouries. Look forward to the following 8 items.

  • Ice Cream with Mini Cone
  • Assorted Mochi Bites
  • Assorted French Macarons
  • Specialty in-house Mille Crepe
  • Crab Claw Toast
  • Smoked Salmon Canape
  • Torched Hokkaido Scallops
  • Crispy Katsudon Chicken Focaccia Toast

Each High Tea set also comes with one drink per person. If you’re a bargain hunter, we suggest going for the tea in 6 flavours including Earl Grey, Jasmine Green Tea, and Berries - it’s refillable!

Pick from flavoured Lattes, Cappuccino, Coffee Mocha, and Affogato if you’re more of a coffee person, or opt for a Vanilla or Strawberry Milkshake at an additional $4 per person.

The cafe itself has a chic and relaxing atmosphere with marble tables, furry throws, and a vase of flowers on every cluster of seats.

You’ll also love the floral feature table that’s piled high with preserved blooms and pampas grass - don’t miss out on a photo opportunity here!

While the High Tea set typically costs $28 nett per person, one "hack" for shaving some bucks off your bill is to make a  reservation at least one day in advance, which will give you a 10% discount - after which you'll only be paying $25.20 nett per person. A $10/pax deposit will be required for reservations, but of course, this will be deducted from your final bill, so there's really nothing to lose if you're 100% sure of your plans. Plus, you'll get to skip the queue!

You might want to amp up your High Tea date with a 3-hour session of art jamming ($50 nett/2 pax, inclusive of drinks) beforehand too, as all art jamming participants get to enjoy 15% off their High Tea session! This means you’ll be paying only $23.80 nett per person for those delectable nibbles.
