Have you heard about NASA changing the zodiac signs to include a 13th sign -Ophiuchus? Well, that's just a myth as they deal with astronomy, the scientific study, and not astrology, which includes things like zodiacs and horoscopes.

Nonetheless, this idea of a 13th sign is still a thing that's fun to look into, albeit not a scientific one.

To put things simply, zodiacs were first determined by the Babylonians thousands of years ago through constellations, groups of stars that form a dotted pattern. The zodiacs are named after the 12 constellations that can be seen across the path that the sun moves through the year.

According to NASA, there was one constellation between Scorpio and Sagittarius that didn't fit into the divided sections neatly and was thus removed. This 13th constellation is named Ophiuchus.

Although not widely recognised, there are still some that believe in the theory of 13 signs like astrologer Walter Berg. He also proposed a symbol for this zodiac which looks like a letter 'u' with a snake across it.
