CHAGEE Now Has A Signing Store In Singapore That's Fully Staffed By A Deaf & Hard-Of-Hearing Team
Not that we needed one, but here's a brand new reason to enjoy a good cup of CHAGEE! Known for its fragrant, delicious milk teas (and iconic cups + reusable carrying bags + limited-edition merch), the Chinese beverage chain has been opening up outlets islandwide at a breakneck speed.
While many of these boast lovely interiors and even scenic views (the spacious VivoCity outlet is our personal favourite of the bunch!), their latest store, located at the National University of Singapore (NUS), has essentially one-upped all the others.

Staffed entirely by Deaf and hard-of-hearing partners, this particular outlet is the first Signing Store in Southeast Asia. Not only does this one-of-a-kind store provide a safe and accommodating space where Deaf persons can work as regular tea baristas, there are also plenty of opportunities for them to interact and connect with customers!

From the entrance of the store, which features a CHAGEE signboard accompanied by Singapore Sign Language illustrations, to the gorgeous Singapore-inspired mural created by award-winning Deaf artist Chen Zi Yue (Angeline) positioned at the seating area, each feature of the store thoughtfully spotlights inclusivity and accessibility.

Visitors can also pick up a bit of basic sign language from the wall of flip boards, which you can then use to communicate with the Deaf baristas in-store!
