In response, a Japanese company, Saga Prefecture’s Sagasiki developed a mask called "Hakode Guard︎". It’s not so much a mask as it is a helmet, covering everything from the top of your head down to your shoulders.

Sagasiki’s mask was developed using the company’s expertise from years in the paper goods industry. Made of a single piece of paper, there are no staples, straps, or interlocking tabs, though the company’s photos suggest that it recommends using the "Hakode Guard︎" in conjunction with a standard mask.

Combines the functions of "hair cap" and "goggles"

"Hakode Guard︎" is a face guard that covers not only the mouth, nose and eyes, but also the entire head, including the hair. It corresponds to a free size that does not distinguish between size and gender.

Firmly covers the neck along the curved surface of the shoulder

It covers even the neck , which cannot be covered only with a mask, the side arches follow the curved surface of the shoulder, and you can lean forward and bow, so you can work smoothly.

Can be folded, assembled, and simply folded to discard

It can be easily assembled by simply folding the opening on the top of the head. After use, just "fold and throw away".

Sagasiki and its Tokyo-based partner Amazing Day have already been donating the "Hakode Guard︎" to medical facilities in Saga and Tokyo, and now the companies have begun offering them to the general public online here, where a box of 100 of the single-use masks are available for 17,600 yen including tax.

In the meanwhile, stay safe & healthy.
