While cafes with modern designs and decorations make great backdrops for your Instagram photos, hanok (traditional Korean house) cafes are also a sight to behold!

Check out these three beautiful hanok cafes in Seoul and make sure to add them to your cafe hopping list!

The third outlet of the Cafe Onion chain is housed within a hanok house, something different from its other two branches where the decor is more industrial-chic.

Located near Gyeongbokgung Palace, head over to Cafe Onion Anguk when you need a place to recharge after all that walking and sightseeing.

Make sure you try the famed Pandoro, a castella cake covered with powdered sugar when you are there. There is also another version of the cake that is covered in Injeolmi (Korean rice cake powder).

Rather than a cafe, Cha-teul is a teahouse situated within the Bukchon Hanok Village. The exterior retains the hanok (Korean traditional house) look and its interior is equally mesmerising!

Remove your shoes before entering and a garden with well-kept plants and flowers will welcome you as you step into the teahouse. We recommend getting there just before the sun sets so that you get to witness the golden hour and take many Instagram-worthy shots!

Also located in Bukchon Hanok Village, Green Mile Coffee has three levels in total with the third floor being an open space terrace where patrons can head outside to snap photos.

Let the beautiful and intricate designs of the hanok tiled roofs be the backdrop for your photos!
