One can never have too much bubble tea.
It's true. Just look at the number of bubble tea players in Singapore~ From Koi, Gong Cha, Liho, Heetea, Each A Cup, Sweettalk (yes, it's still around), Partea and... really, the list is almost endless but anyway~
This post goes out to all the bubble tea lovers who's looking for a new alternative! We first saw Bober Tea on our insta feed and we were like Hey, this looks interesting.
If you check out #boberteasg (their official hashtag), you'll realise that there are only 14 posts.
After a little bit of stalking, we concluded that they probably only started operations in end May, making them a fairly new player in Singapore.
It's conveniently located at Bishan MRT #01-01, just next to the ticket office.

We were greeted with a wide selection of milk teas and fruit teas alike and we were honestly spoilt for choice. Everything looks so good but we can't possibly try everything...
This is what we finally went for.

Salted Caramel Milk Tea with Taro Pearls (Small) @ $4
Photo from Girlsdaily SG
As mentioned earlier, there are many interesting choices but we got this because well, it's salted caramel. We've tried salted caramel ice cream, salted caramel tarts etc... but never a Salted Caramel Milk Tea. It's not a flavour you can find at mainstream bubble tea stores too. So... why not?
The original drink comes without the pearls. Prior to this, we've also read about how Bober Tea's pearls aka bobas are handmade and in our dictionary, anything handmade is a must-try so we went ahead and topped up $0.50 for them handmade bobas!
Our Verdict
Yumz! The salted caramel game is strong here and alongside the chewy bobas, every sip became even more flavourful. If you're a fan of anything salted caramel, do consider this.
However, do note that unlike other bubble tea stores, Bober Tea's drinks have fixed sugar level. So if you don't want your drink to be too sweet, consider asking them to tone down the sugar a little. (Should be possible... can't confirm :P)
Ruby Grapefruit Yakult with Boba Pop (Large) @ $6.50
Photo from Girlsdaily SG
To counter the milk tea, we opted for one of Bober Tea's signature fruit tea. This grapefruit-infused drink is actually really refreshing and Yakult goes well with it.
What do we love most about this drink? The boba pop! *heart eyes* It literally pops in your mouth (like the Lychee Popz from Mr Bean btw, go try it if you haven't!).
Unlike our Salted Caramel Milk Tea, this fruit tea includes the boba pop so you don't have to worry about topping up more~
Our Verdict
It's a yummy combination and we'll definitely get it again. If you're trying to go easy (or cut down) on dairy products, try Bober Tea's fruit series! :)
If you purchase 6 or more drinks, you'll be able to walk away with this super cute carrier~ We approve!
