Antagonists are part and parcel of every drama to make the plot interesting. Go Go Squid! has some characters who would get on the viewers' nerves but at the end of the day, they manage to redeem themselves because they have good intentions.
Except for one particular character (we'll leave it to you to find out why everyone was annoyed when she appeared), Go Go Squid! almost has no unlikeable characters. Themes like friendship and loyalty were also very prominent in the drama with lots of bromance and poignant moments between the characters.

Chinese dramas typically have more than 30 episodes which is considered long compared to Korean or Taiwanese dramas. Some Chinese dramas are not able to keep the plot interesting and starts going downhill in the middle due to that. Some of them don't even address all the problems in the drama before the last episode, leaving viewers hanging and unsatisfied.
However, Go Go Squid! was very consistent with its pacing throughout the 41 episodes and ended on a high note with a good wrap up, leaving viewers contented.
