The singer has revealed her 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl', just hours after sparking fan theories with a cryptic countdown on her website.
True to her style, she set the clock to end at 12:12 a.m. ET on the 12th of the month. When the timer hit zero, she made the big reveal during her appearance on Travis Kelce’s New Heights Show podcast. The upcoming album is also available for pre-order on her store's website.

Taylor Swift’s 'The Life of a Showgirl' announcement came shortly after Travis Kelce shared on Instagram that she would be joining him on the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason, this Wednesday. Earlier on Monday, the podcast hinted at a special guest, and fans quickly guessed it was Taylor after spotting her silhouette in the teaser image.

Now 35, Taylor is one of the world’s best-selling artists, with around 200 million records sold worldwide. She holds the record for the most No. 1 albums in the US by a female artist. Her 'Eras' Tour became the first tour in history to make over $1 billion, selling 2.4 million tickets in a single day and earning more than $2 billion over 21 months.

New Spotify playlist, with only Max Martin-produced songs
Right after the big reveal, Taylor surprised Swifties with a new Spotify playlist called "And, baby, that’s show business for you ❤️🔥".

The cover featured a glittery mint green background with an orange “T★S★”. The playlist features 22 tracks from her past albums, all produced by Swedish hitmaker Max Martin. He’s the mastermind behind many of her pop anthems, but he hasn’t worked with her since Reputation in 2017.

This move hints that Max Martin might be producing 'The Life of a Showgirl'.
Taylor Swift Reclaims Her Entire Music Catalogue After 20 Years
Her last album, The Tortured Poets Department (2024), broke Spotify’s streaming record with 300 million streams in a single day and 1 billion streams in five days.
Earlier in May, Taylor bought back the master recordings for her first six albums, giving her full control of her entire music catalog for the first time. At 15, she had signed with Big Machine, which gave the label ownership of her masters. In 2019, label founder Scott Borchetta sold those albums to Scooter Braun, who later sold them to Shamrock Capital for a reported $300 million.
Taylor started rerecording her albums to take back creative and financial control, adding unreleased “From the Vault” songs to each new version. She told fans in May that she had nearly given up hope of owning her work after 20 years of setbacks, but now “all of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs... to me.”

The only albums left without a “Taylor’s Version” are Reputation and her 2006 self-titled debut. Fans have been speculating for years about when they might come out, and even though she now owns the originals, it’s likely she will still release them as part of the project.
