Hello Kitty Is Set To Hit Theatres With Gudetama & Little Twin Stars In An English-Language Film

We all know how adorable Hello Kitty is but how many of you actually know her story?

We, for one, do not. But it seems like the mystery will be solved very soon because everyone's favourite white kitty will be making her first-ever movie debut! *pops confetti*

Sanrio has announced its collaboration with New Line Cinema, Warner Bros and FlynnPictureCo. to produce Hello Kitty's first English-languaged film and she will be joined by other popular characters such as Gudetama and Little Twin Stars.

In case you are foreign to FlynnPictureCo., they have produced movies such as Baywatch and Rampage while New Line Cinema is best known for blockbusters such as Lord of The Rings, The Hobbit, Creed, The Conjuring, The Nun, Me Before You and more. Impressive portfolio, yes. 

Speaking to the press, Beau Flynn, CEO of FlynnPictureCo. said:

"Hello Kitty has been one of the most beloved characters around the world for the last 40-plus years," says Beau Flynn, chief executive officer, FlynnPictureCo. "We're incredibly honored that President Tsuji has entrusted us with the responsibility of bringing her story to the big screen globally for the first time ever, and it’s a dream that we get to do this with our long-term partners at New Line and Warner Bros."

"With the positive and family-oriented values that Hello Kitty and Sanrio embody, there has never been a better time than now to share her message with the world!"
