Step Into Recreations Of Claude Monet's Artworks At This New Pop-Up Gallery In Singapore
Changi Airport continues to tempt us back to the East with new sights and activities including the Changi Festive Village. And joining this festive attraction is something for the art lovers and Instagrammers - Monet: A Journey Through Seasons at Changi.
This pop-up gallery houses reproductions of some of Claude Monet's iconic artworks in a creative way that allows visitors to be a part of the art. You see, these artworks come in giant 3D form where you can feel like you're stepping into the painting.
French painter Claude Monet (1840-1926) was one of the initiators of the Impressionist movement. He rejected traditional ideas and embraced a radical approach that included visible yet lighter and looser brushwork creating an impression of a moment. Monet would observe variations of colour and light and create multiple works depicting the same scene at different times of day or during different seasons.
In line with his Impressionist style, the installations at Changi Airport are themed after the four seasons and depict a fleeting moment in nature. Start in the winterscape where you can stroll down the path inspired by Boulevard Saint-Denis, Argenteuil, in Winter.

Next, you can insert yourself into the Cap Martin, near Menton painting depicting a sloping terrain overlooking the sea.

After that, pop into the frame of the picturesque summer installation reminiscent of The Poppy Field in 1873.

And finally, bask in autumn vibes as you sit under faux trees and pretend you're in one of Monet's paintings like Autumn on the Seine.

Look out for a hidden Kids' Gallery which features Louis Wain's illustrations of large-eyed cats. Visitors at this cottage-like space can have fun pretending to be cats as they play with giant cat toys.
