It's been a year since Los Angeles-born gourmet sandwich joint Eggslut opened in Singapore to massive queues. To celebrate its first anniversary, the egg-focused restaurant is launching a limited-time menu with a sandwich and dessert available from 9 September to 31 October 2022.

First up is the Avocado & Prawn Sandwich ($16) that has grilled tiger prawns in a garlic chilli lime glaze, egg, avocado, cheddar cheese and sweet chilli mayo in a brioche bun.

This humble-looking sandwich tasted a lot more indulgent than expected! The four succulent tiger prawns had a natural sweetness and subtly spicy Thai-style element that meshed well with the creamy avocado slices. Adding an extra oomph was the perfectly over-medium egg with a runny centre. Compared to Eggslut's lighter sandwiches like the Fairfax ($12) and Bacon, Eggs & Cheese ($12), this Avocado and Prawn Sandwich makes for a more substantial meal.

Eggslut has also launched their first-ever dessert in Singapore - the Panna Cotta Slut ($6). Don't be deceived by its egg-like appearance, it really is a panna cotta!

The "egg white" is a vanilla and hazelnut panna cotta while the "yolk" is a mango passionfruit sauce which, to our delight, burst and flowed just like how an egg yolk would. When mixed together, this dessert was was satisfyingly sweet but never too cloying thanks to the fruity tang.
