Free Squid Game-Inspired Game On Roblox: Explore The Replica World & Play 'Red Light, Green Light'
Like any financially successful project, Netflix's current #1 show Squid Game is likely to be milked dry into everything imaginable from merchandise to themed food.
At this initial stage of its popularity, game developers on Roblox have already beaten the Squid Game team to it and created online games inspired by the series. The games are free to play for anyone around the world, including Singapore.

Unless you're a gamer, you might not have heard of Roblox before. To sum it up briefly, Roblox is an online game platform and game creation system that allows users to create their own games and play games created by other users. Users enter a virtual online universe and can play, interact and chat with friends and strangers in the game.
Among the slew of Squid Game-inspired games on Roblox, the one that stands out is the game by Rocul Studios for it's smooth and immersive gameplay. In an impressive virtual replica of the Squid Game set, players can relive the same experience as the show's players on their first day at the survival competition. The game even plays the music from the series' soundtrack.

Players start at the main room that's a pretty accurate copy of the show's counterpart. All avatars wear that now iconic numbered teal jacket, but if you look closely, everyone's number 1! Climb up the bunk beds, sit back and relax, or gaze longingly at that pile of cash on the ceiling. While it's not quite the shape of a piggy bank, the resemblance is there.

There's even a floor board showing all the players' faces, guards in pink-red jumpsuits and triangle masks, and a panel showing the number of players in the game.
Players have to wait five minutes or less while the previous group are playing the 'Red Light, Green Light' game. Once it's your turn, you'll go through a colourful maze-like stairway and take a picture of yourself before heading to the game hall - all familiar scenes if you've watch Squid Game.

Alas, there's no creepy giant doll scanning the crowd for movement! But the rest of the game hall is exact to the series, with a withered tree, two guards at the finish line, wallpaper mimicking the outdoors and green barn doors.
The announcer introduces the game and once the signal goes off, you have five minutes to reach the finish line. If you don't freeze in time when it's "red light", your avatar will get eliminated from the game in the same fashion as the show.

As a borderline Squid Game fanatic, it was an absolute delight seeing all the references to the series. Then again, there isn't much replay value as the gameplay doesn't pose any challenge whatsoever. But fret not, Rocul Studios is planning to add on more games so players can enjoy a gameplay that reflects the full Squid Game experience, with the honeycomb game coming up next.
