The newly wedded royal couple we now hail as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex just donated their nuptial flowers to hospices and other charities and it's melting our hearts!

.

Here's a heartwarming post by one of the hospices that received the 'royal flowers'.

Pauline Clayton's (featured in post above) royal connection goes way back. According to BBC, Pauline (at the age of 19) used to work for the royal dressmaker Normal Harnell and helped to embroider the wedding dress of Queen Elizabeth II.

"I really liked working for the Queen Mother and I helped to make many of her dresses during my 20-year career with Norman," she told the BBC. "With my royal connections it's such a lovely coincidence to be at St. Joseph's and receive these wedding flowers."

About The Royal Flowers

Kensington Palace confirmed that the flowers were donated to a number of charities and hospices. The donated bouquets were made up of foxgloves, peonies, and white garden roses, many of which were sourced from the royal-owned gardens and parkland in Crown Estate and Windsor Great Park.

The flowers that adorned both St. George's Chapel and St. George's Hall in Windsor on Saturday, were designed by London's Philippa Craddock and a team of florists from Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

Prince Harry handpicked Megan's bouquet himself, with a choice of white roses and forget-me-nots, Princess Diana's favourite (omg!!!) flowers.

To keep up with the royal tradition dating back to Princess Victoria where royal brides would typically carry at least a sprig of myrtle in their bouquet, Megan's bouquet also had a sprig of myrtle.

Myrtle is a flower that symbolizes hope and love and every royal bride including Princess Diana and The Duchess of Cambridge has embraced the tradition.
