Gardens by the Bay has been slowly reopening its premises in gradual phases - first with Cafe Coco’s Lavender Brunch, followed by the Orient Express pop-up escape room and cafe, and the most recent interactive dandelion exhibition at the SuperTree Grove.
Finally, it’s Floral Fantasy’s turn to reopen on 21 November 2020, and with this welcoming of visitors also comes a brand new 5-metre floral sculpture in vivid rainbow hues. Titled Joy, this new installation breathes new life into the enclosed exhibit

To match the overall whimsy of Floral Fantasy, the new Joy sculpture is fantasy-themed and made of dried and preserved flowers in a myriad of brilliant jewel tones.
The towering structure is flanked by a fairy, woodland troll, and a giant bird - all original characters created by local master puppeteer, Frankie Malachi.
Walking through this display is like entering an enchanting woodland straight out of a storybook. Look up, and you’ll see baskets hanging from the ceiling, teeming over with fuschias from Japan.
Interesting to note is that a good handful of the fresh flowers and plants on display, such as the orchids, petunias, and bromeliads - are all grown at Gardens by the Bay’s own in-house nurseries by skilled horticulturalists.
Unfortunately, due to social distancing rules, the 4D Flight of the Dragonfly ride will not be reopening until further restrictions are lifted. Still, it’ll be a calming and whimsical experience that will take you away from the realities of life, even if just for a little while.
Tickets are currently priced at discounted rate of $10 (U.P. $12) for adults and $5 (U.P. $8) for children aged 12 and under, and every ticketed visitor is entitled to one free vanilla ice-cream cone from the neighbouring Cafe Aster! This promotion will be running till 3 January 2021.
Tickets must be pre-purchased online via Gardens by the Bay’s website or mobile app. Do note that masks must remain on throughout the session, even for photo-taking.
