Cold water is said to be effective in improving blood circulation and relaxing strained eyes. Dip a soft and clean cloth into cold water and dab it on your eyes. This cold compress helps decreases the puffiness of the eyes. If your eye strain has resulted in puffiness or swelling around the eye area, wrap a few ice cubes in a clean cloth and place it on your eyelids for about 2 minutes. This cold compress will help decrease the puffiness.

Blinking produces tears that moisten and refresh your eyes. But research shows that those who work with computer screens are less likely to blink at regular intervals. Try to make it a habit to blink more often when looking at a monitor.
