#1 Hitachi Seaside Park

Hitachi Seaside Park is famous for their sea of blue nemophila in mid-April to early May. But fret not if you can’t time your trip during that period, because the park is scenic almost all year round.

Other flowers you can view here during the different seasons include roses, tulips, and the narcissus. Another popular time to visit is during mid-October, where bright red puffs of kochia dot the entire area.

#2 Farm Tomita - Hokkaido

It’s impossible to give Farm Tomita a miss when touring the nature spots of Hokkaido. Their neat rows of flowers lined by colour are most pleasing to the eye, especially from afar. Even those with self-professed OCD will find these satisfying to gaze upon.

#3 Hamamatsu Flower Park - Shizuoka

Located along Lake Hamana in Shizuoka is Hamamatsu Flower Park. During Spring in March to mid-April, you’ll see rows of vibrant tulips blooming here - along with plenty of cherry blossom trees.

#4 Kuju Flower Park - Oita

Another spot that’s in full bloom throughout the year is Kuju Flower Park in Oita, which recently shot to fame thanks to viral photos of their rainbow-hued Spring flowers. Drop by in mid-April to early June to catch those in full splendour.
Otherwise, you can look forward to pink moss, cosmos, lavender and more during other parts of the year.

#5 Ashikaga Flower Park - 1h 40min from Tokyo

Wisteria in Japan is almost synonymous with Ashikaga Flower Park. Make sure you plan your travels from mid-April to mid-May if you want to catch the delicate lilac flowers dangling from above.
Mid-April is also when their Spring Flower Festival happens, with tulips, crocuses, and the Thunberg’s meadowsweet.

#6 Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park - Osaka

Tsurumiryokuchi Expo '90 Commemorative Park, also known as Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park for short, is a sprawling plot half an hour from the bustle surrounding Osaka station. It’s open 24/7, but as with most nature spots with flowers, it’s most grand during Spring.
If you’re on a tight timing, head straight for the rustic Dutch windmill surrounded by tulips - that’s the best photo backdrop.

Kill two birds with one stone by admiring both Mount Fuji and Spring blossoms at Yamanashi. The entire area looks great from many angles, but Fuji Motosuko Resort along Lake Motosu is especially loved for its carpet of pink moss.
Travelling there from Tokyo will take a while, but it will be well worth it.

If tulips are your favourite flower, then there’s no doubt that Tonami Tulip Park needs to be on your bucket list. You can visit their indoor and outdoor galleries any time, but the best would be during their annual Tulip Fair, which lasts 14 days from late April to early May.
