Valentine's Day is coming up very soon and for those who don't have the extra money to splurge on expensive restaurants, don't fret.
Planning a date with your loved one on this special day doesn't necessarily mean you will have to burn a hole in your pocket.
We have compiled a list of eight things you can do that are as equally romantic as going to a fine dining restaurant. The best part? These are all budget-friendly.
Check them out below!
#1 Have a candlelight dinner at home
For couples who have a home of their own, having a candlelight dinner at home can be romantic too! Fairy lights and candles will set the mood while a neatly set up table will make the dinner experience feel more luxurious.
If you have a knack for cooking, good for you and your partner! Otherwise, there are many simple recipes to follow online and honestly, it's so much more fun and sincere when you don't know how to cook but still want to make something yourself for your loved one.
#2 Go on a picnic and be surrounded by nature
If you or your partner loves nature, plan a picnic date!
Forget those ugly checkered picnic mats and use thin rugs or cloths as your picnic mat. Bring a few pillows, picnic baskets and anything that looks aesthetically pleasing. Bring food that can be easily consumed without a proper table such as pizza and fruits.
There are many picnic spots in Singapore but some of the best are The Botanic Gardens, Fort Canning and Gardens by the Bay.
#3 Make chocolates together
Rather than purchasing a box of chocolates to gift to your loved one, why not make a box together with your bae?
It's so much more meaningful than just purchasing them and you get to spend time with your partner in the comforts of your own home - great for homebodies!
#4 Do a photoshoot together
To commemorate this special day, do a photoshoot together! It's a fun activity, you get to keep the photos forever and can flaunt them on Instagram.
It's great if you have friends who would love to help you take photos but if not, a phone and a tripod will work well too.

#5 Go on a dreamy date at Singapore's first beach light and sound attraction
Magical Shores at Siloso is Singapore's first multi-sensory, interactive beach light art attraction and the best part? It's free!
From 23rd January 2020, Siloso Beach will transform into the calming and captivating Magical Shores at Siloso every night. Visit this place with your loved one and see dreamy and ethereal lights to feast your eyes on.

#6 Take a trip down memory lane
Revisit the place you had your first date with your loved one or rewatch the movie the both of you first watched together. It's always nice to take a trip down memory lane and appreciate your partner on this special day!
#7 Plan a short getaway and visit an amusement park
Euro Fun Park is Malaysia's largest travelling amusement park! Established in the '90s, they offer exciting rides from Europe.
As it's relatively cheaper to plan a short getaway to Malaysia and it's located near Singapore, consider going on an amusement park date with your partner and de-stress!

#8 Watch a movie at The Projector
The Projector is an indie cinema located in Golden Mile Tower. The retro concept makes it a great date venue as you can snap many aesthetically pleasing photos too!
Other than catching a movie there, chill at the bar with some bites and drinks and chat the night away with your loved one.
Which of these will you be doing on Valentine's Day?
