With Canva, You Can Construct The Perfect Resume Template With Half The Time!

Click on the image to explore this wonderful web! You can design a professional resume, name card, logo, presentation slides etc. The templates are easy to use and navigate. However, it is a pain in the butt if you want to change the alignment and etc. Here are some template and examples!

Basics
These 2 resumes use a left-right column organisation and it is relatively basic with a small touch of creativity. A safe border to frame your resume and emphasis on your name, highest qualification, and your job title.

What to look out for and some tips?

1. Context
What are you applying for? If your role is on the creative side, you have the freedom to express but in the most prudent and professional way possible. For jobs such as floral designer, photographer, videographer, landscape artist, influencer etc. Do away with the standard resumes! Black and white minimalism resume is cool yes, you may also consider something more eye-catching, colourful or any background images that visually summarise who you are.

4. Charts/Tables
You can include timelines, graphs, time graph, levels, pictures, logos or any visual helps, just like those below! Make sure you use it for a purpose and not just a tool to flaunt you skills! It has to be intentional, aids in presenting your points better, clear and concise, good colour choices!

5. Soft Skills
The easier way to explain is your persersonal attributes that enable you to interact and work with other people.

6.Hard Skills
Hard skills refers to the specific knowledge and abilities required for success in a job.

In the above examples, only hard skills are mentioned and it is common. However, when you highlight soft skills in your resume, you gain a better chance at jobs which focus more on teamwork, relations and people-related criteria. It is not necessary but it value add. You can also include interests or talk about it in your overall summary.

7. Achievements & Awards
When you have achievements and awards, please show it on your resume! It has a pop up effect especially for companies who value achievements, performance and attitude.
