SiliSponge: Is This Another Silly Gimmick Or The Product We Have Always Needed?
It's always Beautyblender, Beautyblender and Beautyblender...
But what about the SiliSponge? What exactly is it and can we really use it on our face?
SiliSponge is a silicone sponge produced by Hong Kong-based Molly Cosmetics that's currently being sold for US$9.90.

It's said that we girls tend to waste a lot of makeup (tsk!) when we use a sponge (it absorbs our foundation) or our hands. To save ourselves (and our wallet), Molly Cosmetics came up with this sponge that can help us get our makeup done with the amount we need.
The inner material of this sponge is, of course, silicone while the outer shell is made up of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)— a flexible plastic that's resistant to oil and grease.
So instead of our sponge, the only thing that's going to absorb our makeup is our face. Woohoo! Isn't that how it's supposed to be from the start?
Is It Hygienic?
Did you know? For hygiene reasons, you're supposed to get a new BeautyBlender every 3 months. How many of you are guilty of using one blender forever?
Washing The SiliSponge
What else do we love about this product? THE WASHING PART!
Washing our makeup brushes or sponges is easily a girl's greatest dread. It takes time and when not done well, we put our face at risk... but this SiliSponge really took things to the next level.
To wash it, you can use a bit of makeup remover and then run it under the water.. Like this!

However, if you just want to try it out to see if it's really that great, head over to Daiso and get their version of the Silisponge. For SGD$2 only of course.

We're very excited to try it out and would certainly update you guys on our progress. Perhaps we would even do a comparative video between the original SiliSponge by Molly Cosmetics and Daiso's version to see if there's any difference. What do you think? :)
Stay tuned!
