Here's Why Mediacorp Actor Zhang Zhen Huan Is Leaving Singapore For Good
Another actor leaving our little red dot.
First, Sharon Au left Singapore for Paris. Then, Jeanette Aw left Singapore for Bangkok. This month, Mediacorp actor Sichuan-born Zhang Zhen Huan would be leaving our Lion City to relocate back home to China once his artiste contract is up.
In a statement released to the public, Zhang said: "I'm deeply grateful for the company's commitment to cultivating and honing my talent and I hope to be given opportunities to work with Mediacorp again on future projects."

In 2008, Zhang took his first step into showbiz through You Are The One, a Channel U talent search programme in which he emerged as the first runner-up. The following year, he made his acting debut in the star-studded primetime drama The Dream Catchers alongside Rui En, Tay Ping Hui, Jesseca Liu and Shaun Chen and he hasn't looked back since.
Besides seeing him in dramas, we've also seen a lot of him in other areas of entertainment such as hosting and even as a radio DJ. All the hard work he's put into his craft certainly didn't go unnoticed, with him making onto Star Awards's list of Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Favourite Male Character in the last 10 years.
Although Zhang did not give a specific reason for leaving Singapore, we won't be surprised if it is to settle down with his Chinese girlfriend, a makeup student he went public with this year.
Though his departure is definitely a sad one for us, let's continue to send him our well wishes and for him to always be happy with his future endeavours!
