SpongeBob Squarepants Creator Passed On And The Very First Episode Might Make You Cry
Spongebob Squarepants was created in 1999 and became a mega-hit with his underwater friend Patrick worldwide.
Its creator, Stephen Hillenburg died on Monday due to Lou Gehrig's disease, also known as ALS, he was 57 years old.

Children all over the world can enjoy Spongebob Squarepants as it has been translated to over 50 languages and aired in more than 200 countries.
Stephen Hillenburg also won an award earlier this year for his contribution in the field of animation.
Way before Spongebob became a defining milestone in his career, Hillenburg first won the Best Animated Concept in 1987 at an Ottawa International Animation Festival for his animated short film, "Wormholes."
He made a career switch and from 1993 to 1996, he decided to work as a TV director and writer on Nickelodeon's series "Rocko's Modern Life."
