Has severe RBF but is fairly jolly and carefree on the inside. Degree of life satisfaction is heavily influenced by food.

No one does quirky KitKats better than Japan's KitKat team, and they've topped themselves this year with the new KitKat Sanrio Characters chocolates. They come in the most adorable packaging that you'd be tempted to wash, dry and keep as a collectible. These special KitKats launched exclusively in Japan on 1 April, but fortunately for us, they're available to shop online in Singapore!

They come in packs of 10 individually wrapped mini bars, with eight designs to collect.

The packaging may be the main attraction, but the chocolates themselves are also a delight. The mini bars come in a lovely pink hue from the strawberry milk flavour - a sweet combination of creamy milk chocolate and luscious strawberry flavour.

The individual bar packaging comes in a whopping 28 different designs, and each pack comes with a random mix like a blind box. Expect the whole Sanrio gang including Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll and Little Twin Stars. There are also lesser-known characters like the hamster Corocorokuririn and the pink sheep My Sweet Piano as well as a secret design.

Completing this aww-inducing packaging are uplifting messages in Japanese like "I love you" and "I'll cheer you up".

While this special KitKat Sanrio Characters collaboration will only be released in Japan, we can also get our hands on it online, albeit at a marked-up price, at $29.41 for two packs of 10 on shopee.sg. If you're travelling to Japan soon or have someone to help purchase them, lucky you! The chocolates are retailing there for just 685 yen (~SGD 6.04) per pack.
