HEY KEE Is A New 80s-Themed Hong Kong Dai Pai Dong In Singapore With Photo Spots & Classic Dishes
Nostalgia is a powerful thing, especially when it's tied to food! Everyone loves a good retro-themed dining experience, and there's now a new restaurant in Singapore where you can go back in time - HEY KEE. Fittingly located at the former Singapore Badminton Hall, this Hong Kong dai pai dong offers a menu of iconic Hong Kong street food complete with 80s-style photo spots.
Dai pai dong (大排档), meaning "big licence stall" in Cantonese, are open-air food stalls that used to dot the streets and alleys of Hong Kong in the 80s, but has since dwindled down to a handful of stalls. Those craving a taste of this bygone era can get it right on our shores along Old Airport Road.
Retro Dai Pai Dong-Inspired Ambience

The interiors are charmingly reminiscent of the golden era of Hong Kong. The furniture comes in vibrant colours, the floors are made to look like a roadside, and mosaic tiles and vintage posters round up the nostalgic ambience.
We can imagine diners dressing on theme - 80s-inspired fashion - and posing for photos by the old fashioned barber shop installation, or the cute retro bus stop.
