"I Would Love To Act In A Comedy": 7 Things We Learned About K-Drama Actor Jung Hae In At His Fan Meeting In Singapore
Did you know that Korean actor Jung Hae In visited Singapore for his fan meeting at Suntec Convention Centre this past weekend, on 29 October? Best known for his roles in smash-hit K-dramas like While You Were Sleeping, Snowdrop, Prison Playbook, Something In The Rain, D.P, and D.P 2, the boyishly handsome actor embarked on “THE 10TH SEASON” fan meeting tour in celebration of his 10th debut anniversary!
Ahead of the fan meeting, Jung Hae In discussed his career milestones, shared his plans for the future, and answered questions from the local media. Q1: Welcome back to Singapore! What are three things about Singapore that have impressed you so far?
I was in Singapore last year and I remember how my Singapore fans received me with such a warm welcome, that really left me overwhelmed. I remember the beautiful Singapore skyline, as well as the delicious food.
Q2: Congratulations on reaching your 10th debut anniversary! What were some of the most memorable milestones or events in your career?
Looking back you know, if someone were to ask me what my most memorable moment was, I always thought that would be [acting in] my dramas or films. But maybe because I am on tour these days, I think that's when I'm together with my fans, meeting them up close. Those are really the most memorable moments.

Q3: When it comes to acting, you've done romance and you've done thrillers. Is there any other particular genre you would like to explore?
I have not done comedy and if given an opportunity, I would love to act in a comedy or a romantic comedy.
Q4: What do you usually consider whenever you pick up or select a new acting project?
I feel that my job as an actor is not just to act but to share that positive energy, as well as a sense of happiness to as many people as possible. So I hope that when I select my projects, what I consider is: can I share my feelings with the people who are watching my shows?

Q5: Could you share with us: what is the most important thing you do during rehearsals for your shows or films?
I think the key is the right attitude and also having responsibility. It's important to train and practice the way you act, but the moment you're an actor you need to have these two key elements […] Indeed, I also think that being punctual is very important, especially when there are so many professionals and fans involved. You need to have a sense of responsibility all the time so that you can do things in an efficient way.
Q6: What is one song you're listening to that you would like to recommend to your fans?
I would like to recommend the song Ten Thousand Hours by Justin Bieber, I listen to it all the time these days.
Q7: What are some of your current and future goals? Is there anything special you would like to achieve?
Very soon, I will have an encore show in Seoul. With that, as 2023 is coming to an end very soon, I think I need to look back and reflect on all the reasons [I chose my next project, in order to focus on] filming my next show.
