Bukit Timah Railway Station Reopens With A Cafe, Two Gardens, Heritage Gallery & More
Nature lovers, you can add the iconic Bukit Timah Railway Station back to your to-go list. After two years of restoration work, the conserved building has reopened with a new look that has the same comforting aesthetic as Hayao Miyazaki films.

The railway station has been restored and repurposed as a heritage gallery for visitors to learn about its history and that of the Rail Corridor.
At the front of the building, you'll find restored features such as station signs, token poles, and replicas of railway station wagons that once plied the tracks. Step inside for more restored elements like track switching levers, a ticketing booth, and a replica of a signals diagram in the Signal Room, which former Station Masters used to control rail traffic.

Right next to the station is the Railway Staff Quarters, a former staff housing block. It's now a quaint café, 1932 Story, where diners can enjoy classic brunch fare in a retro railway-themed environment.
Close by are two new picturesque gardens. The Kampung Garden has ornamental shrubs and flowers iconic to Singapore's 1960s landscape, while the Herb and Spice Garden is where you'll find plants commonly used for home cooked dishes like Siamese Ginger and Laksa Leaf.

A new sheltered Yard serves as a rest area, with public restrooms that simulate rustic toilets found in the old days. Another spot to rest your tired feet is the Seating Terrace & Ramp, which also has a panoramic view of the restored building.
