In line with the growing focus and interest in wellness, Singapore Tourism Board has collaborated with public and private sector partners to launch the first-ever edition of the Wellness Festival Singapore (WFS).

Held from 3 to 12 June, the festival will be a 10-day line-up of wellness activities and experiences that promote holistic wellbeing, including a range of fitness, emotional and mental wellbeing, and lifestyle focused programmes to rejuvenate the body and mind.

The event comprises of ticketed activities as well as ones that are completely free!

The Wellness Sensorium

This new attraction located at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay offers a multi-sensory experience as well as free wellness programmes. It has 6 experiential zones with fun and instagrammable introductions to holistic wellness including a Sound & Light Bath and a mindful stone stacking ritual in a mini maze.

Visitors can also sign up for a wide range of free wellness programmes at the Sensorium Masterclass Studio. Here are some of the highlights:

In this session, Christina Shiu from The Singing Bowl Gallery will share the myths and facts about the singing bowls. Participants will have a first-hand sound healing experience and learn how to use them to improve our wellbeing.

This yoga session will have guided instructions and demonstration from a trained Hatha Yoga Instructor from SOMA Wellness Singapore. It's suitable for both men and women aged 15-60 who are open to an atypical style of movements that flow together. Note that participants are to bring their own mats for hygiene reasons.

Participants will discover the healing power of essential oils through a basic 45 min session with Spa Esprit. You'll create a unique blend using 100% pure essential oils and take home a 250ml custom-blended shower gel. Event goers get to bring home a goodie worth $130, along with a complimentary session of Energy reading in-store and complimentary 30 minutes massage extension for the next booking.

Stitch meditation was an activity that textile artist, Agatha Lee "Agy", practised daily during 2020 to process grief and accept the circumstances that she was in.

In this masterclass, Agy will share with participants how taking up the needle and thread can help you slow down, focus and be in the present. Through the process of meditative stitch, participants will make a square mat which can be used as a tea coaster. Participants will also get receive a stitch meditation kit to practice with at home.

Participants get to play with 27 fragrance notes at Oo La Lab and create their own personalised perfume. A mixologists will work with participants to create a formula based on their favourite notes which will then be bottled, crimped, capped & labelled as a 10ml Eau de Parfum.

Somatic Movement Series

This series consists of three 90-minute workshops that encourage participants to experience the Gallery's artworks through bodily movement.

Elemental Qi Gong takes inspiration from the gentle yet decisive brush strokes of Chinese ink paintings. It features an elemental approach to qi gong, where participants will use movement and breath work to express the gestural strokes of the brush with the body. It will close with a gong meditation.

Embodied Landscapes with Chloe will teach participants how to embody an earthly landscape through movement and using the body as a medium. Move to the sounds of a playlist designed to help participants enter a flow state of mind, where you become more curious and inspired.

In the Art of Silat session, live drums will accompany the activity where participants will perform the traditional form of martial arts rooted in Malay culture.
