You might have read all about Joya Onsen Cafe in our previous review, where we shared our firsthand experience with their public baths, private onsen, and cafe nosh. They’ve since taken things up a notch with a new sakura theme, to coincide with the the beginnings of fresh cherry blossoms emerging from their buds.

Stepping in, you’ll see that a good portion of the premises is currently decorated with (artificial) sakura blossoms, either dangling from the ceiling or hanging over the various entryways. The zen garden, a prime photo spot, has also been given a romantic pink and white floral makeover.

This sakura theme isn’t merely limited to the decor, for the regular public onsen bath has been swapped out for a sakura tea bath, which comes with skin rejuvenating properties.

The onsen’s in-house tatami cafe is also decorated in the same way. Here’s where you can grab a quick bite of sushi, udon, or their Hokkaido milk parfaits. Various matcha drinks are also on the menu.
